Loved this township on the snowy river banks. Lots of historic plaques along the main street, giving plenty of interesting stories of times gone bye. Started with a visit to the Information Centre before walking the length and breadth before morning tea and travelling onto Lakes Entrance for the afternoon. Walked over to the Eastern Beach to look out over the Bass Strait. Getting blustery and cold!

The moment we parked and unhitched the rig we noticed all the crimson Rosella's (juvenile with different plumage), pigeons, rainbow lorikeet and galahs eating the cones from the trees we are under. Explored the Eastern waterway and out to the ocean beach to look out to the Bass Strait before taking a drive into Lakes Entrance main CBD with all the fishing boats and shopping precinct. Loved the way the artist carved the old microcarper tree stumps into depicting the WWI folk and different history of this area.

Carvings along the foreshore from old microcarper tree stumps that grew here. Great way to use them for this area.
