SUNDAY DRIVE IN THE COUNTRY

We took a leisurely drive back up the Bussell Hwy. to Cowaramup as this place fascinated us when driving through on Friday.  As you can see by all the cows festooning the main street, agriculture plays a significant role and provides the blend of pasture, vineyards and natural bush.  Today was Christmas Fair Day here so the markets were busy with all the local crafter's selling their wares.  Plenty of fine wood crafts, pottery, painting, photography as well as hand crafted Christmas decorations.  Well worth the time strolling amongst  the stalls.

Twelve klms west of Cowaramup is a north facing bay which today the surfers utilised.  Both beginners and advanced surf break makes it popular.

We then drove south on the Caves Road as far as the Boranup Forest which is predominantly made up of karri, the third tallest tree in the world.  This beautiful regrowth forest is just reaching upwards of 60 metres.  Lots of caves along this stretch of country also but Wayne believes none of these would surpass the New Zealand's Waitomo Caves so will not have a look at any!
