HARVEY

When we were on the NSW coast we had to go to Bega for it's  Bega cheese.

In WA - you have to go to Harvey for its HaVe cheese.  Yum - got us some chive and garlic Camembert, basil pesto fetta plus some herb and garlic fetta for our scrambled eggs.

Enjoyed tasting different cheeses but did not stop for lunch or ice-creams.

We then found the Harvey Visitor Centre where we strolled the Keith Leece Precinct with its heritage gardens, the Harvey Internment Camp Memorial shrine, the Stirling Cottage Cafe and the Dethridge Wheel which measures irrigation water to the local farms. (No longer used)

Stirling's Cottage

Heritage Gardens with 19th century water fountain and peaceful river walk were we found a skink sunning itself.

We enjoyed our lunch out on the deck of the Stirling Cottage before heading out to the Harvey Dam and Amphitheatre.  What a tranquil picturesque area with boardwalks, footbridge, walking trails, fenced playground, toilets and grassed picnic areas with gazebos and electric barbeque's.

The peaceful amphitheatre and surrounds with the dam wall in the background.

Pathways with shrubbery surrounding/protecting different levels

Travelling back through the lush green pastures of the dairy farms throughout this area we decided to have a look at Myalup.  Not too much here but another beach with white sand and fishing off the beach.  (I don't think we will be swimming over here with so many shark sightings so close to the waters edge)!!!!

I thought this was the nicest thing to see in Myalup?!

Tomorrow we head off to Busselton via Donnybrook for a week.
