MANY HAPPY RETURNS WAYNE

Yes, my darling has celebrated his 66th birthday for a couple of days as we met up with friends made on the road travelling down WA George and Karen here at Cliff Head South on Thursday and they joined us for a celebratory birthday dinner before they headed back north.  So great to see them again on their way north from Albany.  They even came up to Geraldton on Wednesday arvo to see us before we left our caravan park there.

Our view looking out to the Indian Ocean from our door.

Thursday nights sunset.

Today, Saturday 15th Oct., we took a drive back up the coast to Port Denison and Dongara as we did not take the time travelling down on Thursday.  We have noticed the wind is getting colder as we travel south now so have donned our vests for the first time while out walking the Dongara Walk Trail and the Fisherman's Lookout at Port Denison.

Looking north towards the Irwin Inlet and Dongara. Foreground is the harbour entrance.from Fishermans Lookout.

Yep - our exercise for the day to climb up to this lookout before we head on over to Dongara and then on for lunch.
Dongara is an old fishing town adjacent to beautiful beaches where local rural farmers retire to.  Now a busy tourist area but I still love to read of the historic buildings around.  Wayne thinks the now music shop once was a post office?!

Priory Lodge now a Hotel and Tavern

We then drove back to Port Denison to South Beach to the  Starfish Cafe right in the sand-dunes for the best lunch we have eaten.  The seafood was fresh and the fruity salad without any greasy chips was the BEST!

Look at the surf through the windows - so close.

Our grand daughters Madison and Christie both sent Poppie photos of themselves with Wayne poking their tongues out as has been a common family photo shots so he decided to send them one of him today back!?!?

Another delightful sunset from our campsite tonight.
