As I picked up a booklet from the beautiful Geraldton Visitor Centre at the foreshore of this town, all about the artform and where to find them.  Once the weekend was over, I had Wayne's attention to hop in the truck and take a drive south to Greenough for a day's drive to view the historical buildings as well as look at the artforms.

The Thinker 2016 - Made entirely from repurposed scrap sourced from the Kalbarri tip this is a satirical piece.  Yes, the centre one is sitting on the dunny pondering!?
|
|
Black Boy - trapped within the stereotypes and prejudices that come with our skin colour and nationality, we need to take pride in ourselves and our culture.

Bush Tucker and flowers are very important as a food source for our people to survive on our land.

Wildflower Splendour - to look upon the splendour of God's gift to all mankind.

The life story of a Farm Girl - symbolising her aura and the way the country makes her feel.
I loved these art forms and their stories to look at as well, we stopped at the Greenough Information and Historic township for lunch.  We both enjoyed a yummy cod cowder with sourdough bread.  Lots of information about the area and the floods endured over time and why the buildings are now situated higher on the hills.

Greenough National Trust Village Settlement from the northern end

Not sure what this building was originally as it is on private property but looked very interesting and is part of the local National Trust of buildings.

Buffeted by prevailing southerly winds, this red river gum is a very popular icon for travellers.

Cape Burney - Greenough River

These railings are at the lookout overlooking the beach

Found these little pieces under the seating at the lookout
