ESPERANCE

After playing our third and fourth holes of golf at Kambalda (starting to rain) we headed down to Norseman for lunch at the 24 hour RV camp.  Wayne decided as it is raining we may as well head on down to Esperance for three days before coming back to play the two holes of golf here before heading across the Nullarbor.

Unfortunately for us, heavy rain is forcast for the whole duration of our stay down here so not to be deterred, we set out to Cape Le Grand to hopefully climb to the top.  No to be as it was so wet and misserable one could only stay out in the elements for a couple of minutes at a time.  On our bucket-list to come back and climb this and see more of this National Park.

The foreshore of Esperance!?  Where is the beautiful white beach?

Frenchmans Peak in Le Grange Natinal Park

The bushes are flowering with the rain down here.

How cold and foreboding does this look.   I wanted to climb up to the caves and take heaps of photos from up there.
 One day.

Hellfire Beach.  Yes we have seen white sand at last.

Esperance's Stone-Henge.
After completing the chores today we had our final lunch at "Dome" (had our favourite-tri share) we drove out to look for Wayne's signet ring which he lost yesterday.  It was Dad's from his grandmother with KM engraved on it.  Lucky we found it at the second place he thought to look so HUGE smiles after finding it again.  Carried on around the Tourist Drive from the Pink Lake, (not pink with all this rain) around to the eleven mile beach back towards the CBD of Esperance.  The rain has eased but still cloud cover with no sign of the sun.  We have had enough rain from the last two days.  Hopefully we will not get too much more!!!!  Glad we left Perth last week as the highway out was closed because of flooding today.

Bronze statues on the roundabout in the centre of town with real seagulls sitting with the birds!

Loved this sculpture with the coloured glass along the tail and down the spine.
Well, tomorrow - Saturday, we are off to Norseman to play two more holes of the Nullarbor Links and then we start our journey across the Nullarbor.  I will post the photos of our golf adventure once we have finished the eighteen holes over at Ceduna.  Yes, 1,365 Kilometres to play 18 holes.  So far Wayne has lost two balls on the one fairway?????  Bushes blo....  bushes!
