BLOWHOLES

Powerful ocean swells force the water through sea caves causing jets of water to erupt into the air.  It is quite a spectacle to watch from the rocky edge.

We nestled behind the sand-dunes amongst the fishing shacks for the night rather than on the exposed beach frontage where the wind was really blowing.

All the creature comforts here. Solar power and television!!!!???????
After unhitching and having a bite to eat, we took a drive back to the blowholes then up to the HMAS Sydney II Cairn.  645 lives lost when it was sunk after being torpedoed at close range by the German ship Kormaran.

Yes, unfortunately, lives have been lost fishing off the rocks around here - hence the warning as you drive in.
Strolling the sandy beach with the wind blowing we decided to divert back along the road and view more of these shacks with their out houses.
